Homemade English toffee

Options

Two Cups granulated sugar, 3/4 cup water, 2 sticks butter, 2 tsps vanilla

Stir sugar and water together until the sugar is completely wet. Add the butter and the vanilla. Cook slowly on a medium heat stirring occasionally until the mixture starts to boil. Then stir continuously until the mixture is bubbling really hard and thickens. You should be able to tell when it is ready..... the mixture will start to turn a nice caramel colored brown

Pour mixture out onto a large piece of parchment paper and let cool. After it has cooled completely, break it up into pieces and store in any container
