Mom's fudge that Daddy loved

My daddy would eat this by the dish fool. Mom couldn't make it fast enough

2/3 cup Hersheys dry cocoa

3 cups sugar. 1 1/2 cups milk

1/8 tsp salt. 1/4 cup butter

1 tsp vanilla

Combine all but cocoa and butter, then heat on medium. When mixture comes to a slow boil, stir in cocoa.

Cook and stir until mixture forms a firm chewy ball when dropped into a cup of ice water

Put pan into a larger pan of iced water and beat by hand until the fudge is dull. Be careful not to get water into the fudge. Pour into a buttered pan and chill. When fudge is completely chilled caught into 1-in squares. You can refrigerate this fudge afterwards, but not for a long period of time because it tends to dry out and crumble
